New web builder marks the spot

29 October 2004

WEB development company Athernet Solutions has appointed Marc Starbuck as their new web developer.

Marc, from Chorley, will be responsible for the technical aspects behind client websites - that is, programming and integration with databases.

Athernet Solutions , based at the Chorley Business and Technology Centre, are specialist web builders with clients ranging from retail and recruitment to the NHS.

A graduate of Leeds University in Computer Science, Marc comes with experience in IT support and developing bespoke in-house 'green screen' software systems for a Manchester packaging company.

The Chorley man said: "My interest in web technology came mainly from adapting sophisticated bespoke systems to work through a web browser. Accomplishing those projects made me realise that was the area I was most interested in, so when the chance came to work at Athernet I jumped at it."

Managing director Daniel Atherton said: "We became aware of Marc's work some time ago and when this opportunity arose we knew that he would be great for the role. His expertise will help further improve our web development offerings - he has already done excellent work on several of our clients' projects."
