A new report from Warwick Business School has revealed the six key factors that determine the success of a small business.
One of the key ingredients was marketing. The report found that, on average, only around 20 per cent of the 500 businesses surveyed are using online marketing modes such as broadcast media advertising to progress and grow their firm.
North West small businesses should be aware that companies in the US are looking towards social media channels for their online marketing.
According to a recent survey from FedEx Office and Ketchum, almost two in five small-business owners reported they would be growing their firm with social media websites such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
North West e-commerce businesses that are looking to increase visibility and sales should definitely consider online marketing through social media site, according to Pamela Springer, the chief executive of Manta, who was writing for btobonline.com recently.
She suggested that small businesses may wish to create a company profile on the internet, through a service like LinkedIn, to increase the knowledge of their website while also acting as an online marketing tool for the company.
