The Royal Mail has announced that it is launching a new e-commerce fulfilment tool, which will help North West small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) manage their inventory, accounts and logistics.
Any North West e-commerce businesses looking to expand their growth could use the new tool to increase awareness of their presence in their chosen market sector.
Royal Mail E-Commerce Engine will make it easier for e-commerce merchants to manage everything, including sales orders, customer communications and returns and refunds, through a single platform.
Dan Hewett, head of small business goods fulfilment at Royal Mail, said: "Opportunities in the online retail market continue to increase as the range of sales channels expands and many businesses either dont have the time or expertise to take advantage of them in a cost-effective way."
The company developed the tool to make sure SMEs were capable of exploiting new online sales channels efficiently, he said.
A recent report from regulator Ofcom revealed that 48 per cent of UK internet users have made significant savings by opting to use e-commerce merchants to shop or by comparing prices online.
The Media Literacy report found that eight out of ten internet users have saved money by using e-commerce channels over the past six months.
