Businesses in Lancashire planning website development work should not forget that "content is king", according to an expert.
Clodagh Murphy, director of business broadband provider Eclipse Internet, claimed that companies will benefit from making as much relevant information as possible available on their webpages.
In a column for Fresh Business Thinking, she added that blogs and press releases are a good way to "keep a fresh flow" of content on the site, which could potentially attract visitors.
She went on to explain that firms could also benefit from publishing information from other sources on the web.
"Google wants to see links back to your site from other websites," she outlined.
"In general, you want to publish your content on the best quality sites possible and if you have the opportunity choose websites that relate to your target keywords."
Darrah MacLean, copywriter at Smith-Harmon, recently claimed in a column for MediaPost's Email Insider blog that a website's design should complement online marketing channels.
He suggested that companies should use the same "organising philosophy" that firms would apply to marketing in a retail store when creating landing pages for their websites.
