Companies in Lancashire that are undertaking website design changes need to ensure people will trust their online offerings, according to an expert.
Rob Webber, commercial director of Broadband Expert, has claimed that such issues are particularly important to businesses that are looking to sell items through online retail facilities.
In a column for Fresh Business Thinking, he outlined how firms could look to improve the reaction of consumers to their websites.
He explained: "You can make your site look more reputable and trustworthy by making it as easy as possible for visitors to see who you are.
"Include contact details, a company 'who's who', some background about the business and any professional accreditations or awards your company may have won."
Mr Webber added that "noise annoys", so people should attempt avoid using moving images or pop-ups where possible.
Darrah MacLean, a copywriter at Smith-Harmon, recently outlined in a column for MediaPost's Email Insider blog that the design of websites must complement online marketing efforts.
He said that firms could achieve this by setting up landing pages that they can link email marketing subscribers to via promotional messages.
