Website design 'an ongoing process'

11:32 19th January 2010

Companies in Lancashire have been urged by an expert to keep an eye on new trends they can incorporate into their website design work.

Helen Leggatt, of marketing advice website BizReport, has claimed that companies will not enjoy much success from their online presence if they develop a website and "simply leave it to fester".

Writing in a column on the website, she explained that new technology and processes are regularly emerging that can be used to get the best out of sites and maximise their potential.

"As technologies and marketing tactics evolve - embrace them. Your website, in particular the homepage and landing pages, are store windows and often-changing displays keep consumers peering in," she explained.

"Smaller changes on a more frequent basis are often more effective than big makeovers."

Businesses should also look to boost the prominence of their websites by using a range of online marketing techniques, she added, such as email and search engine optimisation.

Recent figures published by the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising suggested that many companies are set to push a lot of money in the direction of online marketing in the coming year.ADNFCR-2032-ID-19564646-ADNFCR
